Welcome!

Welcome to my blog, “Living Water: Saturated by the Spirit in South Africa!” A mentor told me that the most important thing one can do when immersed in a culture other than one’s own is to soak it in like a sponge. Cultures are expressions of God who dwells in the human heart. Cultures are fountains of living water that reflect the very nature of God. Jesus said, "I will give you living water" (John 4:10). This blog seeks to share my stories of being immersed in South Africa's living water and being saturated by the Spirit therein.

Garden Route Road Trip Mix

An essential element of any road trip are the tunes you blast as you zoom down the open road. The right music heightens the sense of freedom and aliveness you feel. You know that feeling you get when you’re surrounded by friends, adventure, and happiness? That feeling when you know you could take on the whole world? Music has the power to enhance that invincibility.

I thoroughly enjoyed our musical repertoire as we navigated the Garden Route. I’ve included some of the highlights below for your enjoyment! These were songs that we heard throughout our trip. Some come from CDs that we hijacked from my roommate, some were played in bars, and some we started singing through inspiration. Whenever I hear these songs I will look back with fondness on the best road trip ever! Enjoy!
